In order to achieve what we really want in life, we need to pave the way for ourselves. We need to clean up the pathway, eliminate the roadblocks and kick our sassy bullies to the slow lane so we can blaze ahead.
Today, we are going to get crystal clear about what is getting in the way of you living your best life possible and provide you with simple strategies to get you there on the fast track!
It can be so easy to get distracted and weighed down by the busy-ness and to-dos of day-to-day life. Without even realizing it habits develop that you never signed up for and you begin living a life that you don't remember choosing for yourself.
When you start to feel like you're not living for you anymore, it's time to get back to the drawing board.
Let's begin with the mind. Our mind is capable of being our greatest strength or our biggest enemy. When you believe in yourself, nothing can get in your way - you feel motivated, unstoppable and clear with intention. On the other hand, when you begin to doubt yourself and compare yourself to others, you take a u-turn straight to Fear Town.
Have you ever been really excited about an idea and then flipped through Instagram or Facebook and felt totally defeated? Well, gorgeous, you are definitely not the only one who has felt this way.
Comparison-itis is a real epidemic and until we train our self-love muscles to overcome it, we remain victims. This brings us to our first exercise:
1. Get clear on your comparison road blocks - Who or what do you compare yourself to that triggers you to feel like you're not enough? What are your comparison triggers and how can you get them out of your way? Is it Instagram? Facebook? Is it your sister or your successful friends? Are you triggered when you compare yourself to your own expectations or the expectations of others? Write a list of your comparison or "I'm not good enough" triggers and make a game plan for how you can overcome them. Perhaps this means completely eliminating these triggers from your life if they are disposable, perhaps it's saving those activities for when you are in a confident state of mind or maybe this means reminding yourself that they too - like everyone else - have "stuff." Simply doing this exercise and creating awareness around your triggers is powerful! Once you shed light on something it's no longer dark.
Now it is time to get clear on how you actually want to live your life!
It's important to take moments to reflect every once in a while on where we are to make sure we're living in alignment with our values and core desires. Next up is an exercise we do once a month to reassess our day-to-day lifestyles and make sure it's what brings us the most joy possible. Implementing this practice has been a real game-changer and we are excited to share it with you! So let's dive into our next exercise:
2. Assess how you are spending your time - Write down what your ideal day-to-day life would look like, hour by hour. Then, write down how your days currently look, hour by hour. Now notice where you can make some immediate changes. Write down three action steps to have your day-to-day life look more like your ideal day. Where are you wasting time during your days? Is it on social media in the mornings or on your lunch break? If you want more time to exercise or be active an action step could be to go on a walk during those times instead of surfing the internet. Is time disappearing while you try to find something to wear in the mornings? If so, then pick out your outfits the night before. Are you including time for fun and love every day? Are you always searching for things in your messy room or disorganized closet? Even doing a little cleaning or scheduling time to clean can make a huge difference!
These are little steps and simple changes that will have you feeling so much better instantaneously! Let us know how these exercises go for you and reach out if you need us. We are always here for you, beautiful!
