The simplest tasty snack there is: apple chips! And the best part is that this delicious, candy-like snack is actually good for you. Apples have lots of pectin which improves digestion, prevents cancer + lowers cholesterol. Warning: once you start snacking on these, you probably won't be able to stop!
Slice the apples to make apple discs.
Sprinkle with cinnamon (optional).
Place a single layer of apple discs on the dehydrator trays or a lined baking sheet.
Dehydrate at 135 degrees Fahrenheit overnight.
Wake up and enjoy!
Adjust the racks so they are evenly spaced.
Pre-heat oven to 225F convection setting. (If using the regular bake setting, use only one rack in the center of the oven.)
Place apple slices on parchment lined bake sheets.
Bake for 1.5 hours in convection oven (2 hours on regular bake).
Flip the chips halfway through the bake time.
Turn off the oven and leave the chips in the oven to continue dehydrating.
Once they are cool, serve or store in a closed container for up to 3 days.
