Do you wash your face every night and still have skin issues? Or have you tried every face wash, toner, face cream, peel, or mask that exists on this planet and it doesn’t make a difference with your skin??
Well there might be something you’re missing. . . . In March I decided to take on washing my face EVERY NIGHT to see if it would make a difference in my skin quality and get rid of the frequent breakouts I would get. . . I was never one of those people who washed their face EVERY night, so I figured that must be why I would randomly get blackheads and break out.
What I came to realize was, yes, washing your face every night definitely helps, but there were 4 things that impacted my skin even more: water, diet, sleep, and stress.
That’s right, after washing my face every night for 70 days. . . . those are the four things that made a difference, so here is my advice:
1. Drink at least 64 oz of water a day and if you can shoot for 100 oz. (8-12 eight oz servings of water). Our body needs water to replenish and rebuild itself. Not only will this help the skin on your face it can also reduce the appearance of cellulite on the rest of your body (I mean who wouldn’t want that!!).
2. Try cutting dairy, gluten, sugar, alcohol from your diet. Okay that seems like a lot at one time, but experiment one at a time. The minute I have cheese these days the next day I immediately break out on my chin!! The same goes for sugar and alcohol. Cutting gluten cleared up the eczema I had on my scalp for (well since I could remember, so like 13 or 14 years old). Oh and did I mention my dark circles went away when I stopped eating dairy!?!
3. Get your beauty rest and sleep for 7-9 hours every night. Where do you think they came up with that saying?!?! It’s true, just like we need water our body also needs water to recover and fight off anything and everything we are exposed to out in the world. I know you’re busy, but it is totally worth the extra hour or two.
4. Reduce your stress levels. Oh yes, stress will do it to you. Have you ever noticed at the end of a stressful week you break out!? Your body is signaling it needs help. So meditate, exercise, and have fun!! (Having a make-out sesh is also an option). All of these things produce endorphins which help to reduce your stress levels!
Okay loves, make yourself beautiful!!! Pair these steps with your skin care routine and see what results you get! Can’t wait to see all of your bright and beautiful faces out in the world!!
