The holidays are officially here!! Thanksgiving was yesterday and December 1st is right around the corner. I’m sure your schedules are packed with holiday parties, travel plans, or worse, year end reports or projects. If you float around our website this month you’ll find a lot of healthy holiday recipes, ways to stay fit this holiday season and how to enjoy the holiday parties without feeling guilty and gaining the terrible holiday 10.
So let’s get to business, you’re reading this email and yesterday you overindulged in all kinds of goodies (or maybe that’s just us). You might feel great, you might still feel full, you might feel guilty. Just realize any way you are right now is perfect.
We want you to know is that it's okay to indulge every once in a while. It’s important to enjoy the food and the special moments created with your friends and family. But that is part of the problem. During the holiday season we get overloaded with opportunities to indulge! Holiday party after holiday party, not to mention the cookies and candy that are now sitting on your co-workers desk or maybe even in your own home. So what do you do?
The most important thing is to stay on track on the days that you don’t have a holiday party, well even the hours leading up to the holiday party. Don’t sabotage all the hard work you’ve been doing and give up because you overindulged! And don’t wait until January 1 to make a New Year’s resolution to start over. Just start again today because your mind and body deserve it and because we want you to shine on New Year’s eve!
So now you’re probably wondering how to keep on track! Take a look at our site, look at our recipes, and we will each share what we do to keep ourselves on track.
I, Marisa, make sure to get enough sleep, drink plenty of water, and exercise. This is the only way I can make it through all of this holiday business. I always have a sweet tooth, so I’ve got to battle the indulgences with other good habits. I also look for healthy desserts to bring to holiday parties or share with family and friends, then I choose those instead of what others bring.
I, Hannah, wake up each morning and exercise first thing to ensure I squeeze it in before all of the fun begins. I drink probiotic and metabolism boosting drinks throughout the day to keep up with the inevitable over-indulgences. And above any other commitment I have to myself, I make sure to meditate so I stay grounded and clear in the midst of the exciting chaos. Truthfully, the commitment lies in making myself happy each and everyday, because when I am happy and fulfilled, making nourishing choices is so much easier.
We hope you have an amazing holiday season and we are here to support you to have the healthiest holiday season yet! Allow yourself the freedom to enjoy life, food and good company. Start creating the momentum now so that when January 1st comes you can start running for a healthier, happier, and beautiful 2015.
