We have been doing a lot of soul searching lately and each of us have been learning quite the same lessons. Everyday we learn things about ourselves that allow us to grow and progress who we really know ourselves to be. We want to share some of this with you.
One of the areas that we have both struggled with is vulnerability. We’re talking deep down, share what you don’t want people to know about you, vulnerable. So often, we are scared to be judged, scared to complain, or feel like what we are going through just doesn’t matter and so we don’t say anything. When we keep it all inside, it causes us loads of stress + anxiety. Sometimes it can feel like the only way out is an explosion, causing us to breakdown + say hurtful things to our loved ones.
Well you know what? None of this is conducive to us living our beautiful and amazing lives. Vulnerability is one of the keys to human connection. It's what allows us to love and be loved truly + deeply. Vulnerability is a beautiful gift that only brings positive change to relationships and a type of genuine living that we all strive for.
This week we shared with each other our vulnerabilities about our past and how it's shaping our relationships. I (Marisa) have a deep dark fear of being hurt and it holds me back from sharing what matters to me in my relationships. I (Hannah) am still wearing past heartaches + sometimes it makes it really tough to let new people in.
By exposing ourselves and our deepest truths, we create a window into our authentic selves. It is in this special space that true + honest connections are made.
How can you be more vulnerable today? Who can you share with and deepen your connection with by being vulnerable?
Sending you lots of love,
Hannah + Marisa
